There’s a new face keeping things running behind the scenes at Civcon. Chloe Roys has joined as our Supply Chain Manager & HR — a role that, on any given day, covers everything from processing orders and raising purchase orders to looking after the people side of the business: contracts, payroll and compliance.

It’s a job that wears two hats, and Chloe came to it well prepared. She joined us from AHR Building Consultancy, where she worked as a PA and Marketing Executive supporting the Marketing & Business Development Director. Before that, she spent time in the NHS as a PA to the Clinical Lead and a Patient Care Coordinator — so keeping people organised and looked after is second nature.

It was her time at AHR that first put Civcon on her radar. “We worked alongside a lot of subcontractors like Civcon, and I was always intrigued on site visits,” she says. “So when this role came up, it just made sense.” The clincher, she adds, was the company’s commitment to social value — something close to the heart of how we work.

A few weeks in, the welcome has clearly landed. “What surprised me most was how welcoming everyone was, and how supportive the environment is,” Chloe says. The verdict on the team so far? “Really friendly, really welcoming — and a lot of fun.”

Looking ahead, she’s keen to get under the skin of the civils side of the industry and add it to the experience she’s already built, bringing a positive attitude and good communication to the team along the way.

Away from the desk, Chloe keeps busy — five dogs and one genuinely giant cat see to that, along with plenty of walking, time with family and friends, and a serious crafting habit. She also has one of the more unusual back catalogues we’ve come across: a convincing Scouse and Geordie accent, a glowing TripAdvisor review naming her an “amazing entertainment manager” at a hotel she didn’t actually work at, and a stint working with owls and birds of prey. Her order of choice to keep it all fuelled? A mocha and a slice of cake.

Welcome to the team, Chloe.
