Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council has appointed Civcon to its civil engineering tender framework.
Framework appointments in local authority procurement are competitive. To be shortlisted, contractors must demonstrate capability, financial standing, accreditation compliance, and a track record of delivery on similar projects. Civcon met all criteria and secured a place.
Civil engineering works across Barnsley Metropolitan Borough — drainage, highways, groundworks, and associated infrastructure — within the scope of the council ongoing programme. Framework contracts provide the council with a pre-approved panel of contractors they can draw from directly without re-tendering for each project.
Being on the Barnsley framework means Civcon is in the room when projects are assigned — competing against other approved contractors for specific schemes rather than going through a full procurement process each time.
David Grayshon, Managing Director: Barnsley is an area we know well. Being on the framework means we can focus on delivery rather than process. That is where we add value.
